Admission Process & Eligibility

To get admitted into the BSc CSIT program under Tribhuvan University, students must go through a centralised TU admission process that applies to all affiliated colleges, including those in Pokhara. The first step is to complete +2 (12 years of schooling) or an equivalent qualification in the science stream from a recognised board or institution. Students from the Biology group are also eligible, provided they have studied Physics and Mathematics at the +2 level and secured at least a second division or a minimum grade C in each subject. Applicants with A‑level science (with D grade) or a three‑year engineering diploma (CTEVT) with second division in Physics and Mathematics can also apply.

After meeting the academic eligibility, students must appear in the BSc CSIT entrance examination conducted by the Institute of Science and Technology (IOST) at Tribhuvan University. The exam is a 100‑mark objective test based on +2 level subjects including English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and students must score at least 35 marks to qualify for admission. The entrance form is typically available at participating colleges and is valid for all campuses, so candidates need to fill it only once. Students who appear in +2 supplementary exams can also sit the test but must submit their final transcripts before the results are published.

Once the entrance results are out, colleges prepare merit lists based on scores, and students are offered admission according to their ranking and available seats. Completing the priority form and submitting required documents to the chosen college finalises the admission process.
